South Russell is home to approximately 4,000 residents and is located at the western edge of Geauga County, Ohio. The 4 mile long by 1 mile wide village is a residential community with unique character and rural “at home” charm. South Russell students attend the highly acclaimed Chagrin Falls School System.

South Russell Village Council Meetings are streamed live on YouTube when possible. Tune in to our YouTube channel to stream meetings live, and to view past meetings. For a list of upcoming meetings, please see the Village website calendar. Meetings are currently being held in person and are open to the public. If you would like to be added to the meeting agenda, please contact the Fiscal Officer by phone 440-338-6700 ext. 221 or email fiscalofficer@southrussell.com no later than the Wednesday before the meeting. Individuals wishing to address Council must appear in person. Comments made in the YouTube channel chat box are public comment only.

Requirements:
- Must be 60 years of age or older, and living in the Village of South Russell.
- Must be registered with the Geauga County Department on Aging by April 22, 2026. To register call (440) 279-2130. If you have already registered for 2026, simply call (440) 279-2130 by April 22nd to be placed on the pick-up list. Registration is yearly.
Guidelines:
- NO liquids, paints, hazardous household chemicals, construction debris, rocks, yard waste, or household garbage
- Mattresses and upholstered furniture must be wrapped in plastic and taped securely to prevent possible bed bug transfer
- Only 10 household items per home
- Tires (limit of 4, off rims), appliances, electronics, etc
- Items should be consolidated (in boxes), and placed outside in the driveway (NOT curbside)

Bicyclist and Pedestrian Information

In April, eligible residents and small businesses will be receiving enrollment letters from NOPEC for the community’s electric aggregation program that will start with their June 2026 meter read. NOPEC is an energy aggregation chosen by 250 Ohio communities to provide natural gas and/or electricity to residents and small businesses in their community. LEGAL NOTICE
In accordance with Ohio Revised Code Section 721.15 (D), the Village of South Russell passed Resolution No. 2026-01 expressing its intent to sell personal property, including motor vehicles acquired for the use of municipal offices and departments, and road machinery, equipment, tools, or supplies, which are not needed for public use, or is obsolete or unfit for the use for which it was acquired, by internet auction. Pursuant to the terms of the Resolution, internet auctions will be conducted according to the rules and regulations of GovDeals and eBay. Interested bidders may view property placed for auction and may place bids for such property by going to the GovDeals website at www.govdeals.com or eBay at www.ebay.com. Any such auction will remain open for bidding for a period of not less than fifteen (15) consecutive days, including Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays.
