Village of South Russell Council Seat Vacancy
The Village of South Russell Council has an unexpected vacancy due to Council Member Misha Alexander moving out of the Village, leaving the remainder of her term unfilled. Village Council will be accepting applications to fill this vacant seat. The appointed term will expire on December 31, 2029.
To be eligible, applicants must be a qualified elector, a registered voter, and a resident of the Village of South Russell for at least one (1) year.
The Village is seeking candidates who are resident-focused, work well in a collaborative environment, and are committed to the continual improvement of the community. Applicants should be able to thoughtfully evaluate a variety of Village matters and make decisions in the best interest of South Russell residents.
Council meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month, with the exception of June, July, August, and December, when only one meeting is held on the third Monday. Additionally, Council members serve on several committees each of which meet monthly during business hours.
