SATURDAY, APRIL 27^th at the South Russell Village Campus parking lot

8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Entrance will be at the Police Department driveway.

Residency identification WILL be required.

ITEMS THAT WILL BE ACCEPTED INCLUDE: General trash and debris, items containing freon (refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers and air conditioners), scrap metal, computer equipment, electronic equipment and white metal such as appliances.

TIRES WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THIS CLEANUP

* NO YARD WASTE, HAZARDOUS HOUSEHOLD CHEMICALS OR CONTAINERS WITH LIQUEFIED PRODUCTS ACCEPTED *

The Police Department’s security monitoring system operates and record events 24 hours a day. Anyone using the safety zone will be recorded from the time they enter the campus until the transaction is completed and they depart the campus. This service requires no police response and simply provides an area which is monitored 24 hours a day. Should an emergency occur, citizens can be instructed to call 911 or activate the “call box” at the entrance to the Police Station.

Upfront Financing for Energy Efficiency Improvements

Commercial property owners in NOPEC member communities can now get upfront financing for energy efficiency projects through the new Propery Assessed Clean Energy program (PACE).

Get the funds you need to make your property more energy efficient.

The PACE fixed-rate loan is based on project costs and an energy assessment/audit that identifies savings opportunities.  Payment on the PACE loan is made twice per year and is listed on the tax duplicate as an assessment.  The repayment period will be based, in part, on the projected savings and useful life of the assets financed.

PACE is available for many types of commercial properties for a wide range of energy efficiency projects. Eligible facilities can be owner occupied or a rental property, for-profit, non-profit, industrial, commercial housing and government facilities.

NOPEC Natural Gas “OPT OUT” Anniversary Mailer is coming!

As you may or may not be aware, NOPEC is required by the Public Utility Commission of Ohio (PUCO) to send out “OPT-OUT”  letters to all our natural gas customers every two years.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions or if you need more information.  Our goal is to arm you with all the tools you need and the Customer Service number for additional support.  Also available is the “How to Become a Member” animated video that explains how your community became a member;  which can be linked to from either our website  or the NOPEC You Tube account.

Congratulations to Mayor William Koons and Councilmembers Bryan Kostura, Gerald Canton and Cynthia Nairn! Mayor Koons, Kostura and Canton were sworn in Monday, January 11th to serve four year terms.

Mayor Koons was first elected to Council in 2006 and resigned from his seat while serving his third term, since he was elected Village Mayor. Bryan Kostura was appointed to Council in 2013 and is serving his first elected term. Gerald Canton is newly elected to Council.

At the January 25th meeting, Cynthia Nairn was appointed to fill Mayor Koons vacant Council seat. The term expires December 31, 2017. Nairn has served on the Cemetery Committee since 2008 and was an intricate part of the construction process.
