Michael Rizzo was appointed Chief of the South Russell Police Department and was sworn in on January 28, 2013 at the village council meeting.
Mike joined the South Russell Police Department in 1997 and was promoted to sergeant in 2011.
He is a graduate of the Police Executive Leadership College (PELC).
Mike received the South Russell "Employee of the Year" award in 2008.
He is currently the Vice President of the Geauga Police Chief's Association and currently serves on the Valley Enforcement Group Training Committee and the VEG Communication Committee.
Michael has been a resident of Geauga County since 1997 and resides in Middlefield.
Mike implemented the South Russell "Shop with a Cop" program and has coordinated and participated in the yearly event for the past several years.

Michael Fabian was appointed to the position of Lieutenant on February 25, 2013.
Mike is a graduate of the Police Executive Leadership College (PELC) and the FBI National Academy. He currently serves on the Valley Enforcement Group Communication Committee.
He began his law enforcement career in 1996 as a Ranger with the Geauga Park District eventually taking a position with the Middlefield Police Department in 2005 where he held the position of Staff Sergeant and was later promoted to Lieutenant.
Mike oversees the day to day operations of the police department and is involved with the implementation and coordination of our new community based programs.
